Miami Fashion Week is coming up and anticipation is high. With returning and new designers, this edition of Fashion Week has shows from January 24 -28, 2024. Here are some designers to watch out for during Miami Fashion Week.
Karl Kani
Inspired by street culture and hip-hop, Karl Kani is known for baggy jeans and urban fashion. The Costa Rican-born designer grew up in Brooklyn, where he followed through on his dreams to create the Karl Kani brand. His unique vision changed the fashion industry by introducing streetwear to the world and dressing some of the most iconic people like the Notorious B.I.G., Aaliyah, and Tupac. His designs for this MIAFW will be revealed on January 24, 2024, and it will be the very first time Miami Fashion Week has showcased a streetwear designer.
Yas Gonzalez
Raised in Miami and born in Cuba, Yas Gonzalez incorporates her Cuban heritage into her glamorous designs. Her brand House of Yas showcases vibrant styles and distinctive pieces that tell their own story. Her stunning pieces have made their way to some music videos by talented artists like Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez. Yas Gonzalez’s designs for this MIAFW will be showcased on January 25, 2024.
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada is known for colorful and whimsical designs. The Spanish fashion designer uses her individuality to create some of the most unique designs. Her pieces show off optimism, boldness, and originality through the vibrancies of her creations. Watch out for her distinctive designs on January 25, 2024, for Miami Fashion Week.
Rene by RR
Rene Ruiz, creator of Rene by RR, is known for his sophisticated and luxurious designs. The Cuban-American designer creates timeless pieces that blend glamour and fashion. Not only does the designer have an eye for style, but he prioritizes giving back to his community by making contributions to charities and even designing transplant recovery hospital gowns for patients. Making yet another appearance at MIAFW, Rene by RR will be showcasing its designs on January 26, 2024.
Lisu Vega
Venezuelan-American fashion designer Lisu Vega incorporates grace and beauty into her designs. Lisu Vega blends sustainability with art as she uses recycled materials, poly silk, and other textile materials in her work. She uses ancient weaving techniques to create her classic yet modern designs. Lisu Vega’s elegant designs will be showcased on January 26, 2024 for MIAFW.
Angel Sanchez
Venezuelan fashion designer Angel Sanchez is known for bridal and evening wear designs. The designer shows off his love for architecture through varying patterns and shapes to encompass traditional couture. Giannina Azar
Giannina Azar uses her creativity to make bold and stylish pieces. The Dominican-Lebanese fashion and haute couture designer is widely known for dazzling designs. Celebrities such as Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, and more have worn her striking pieces. Making a reappearance for Miami Fashion Week, Giannina Azar‘s collection will be showcasing on January 27, 2024.
