Tranquility, beauty, fluidity. These three words describe the beautiful beaches of the world, and the same three words can be applied to the Brazilian-made and Philippine-born swimwear brand known to its loyal clients as “Agua.”

The brand carries both swimwear and clothing, all made in Brazil, and all flexibly designed to be worn both on and off the beach. Led by an all-new team, Agua made its debut in Miami Fashion Week 2023, and it is set to take on New York Fashion Week 2024. With its unique prints and styles that can be worn from beautiful beaches to stylish city bars, Agua Brazilian Swimwear is set to release three to four collections each year.

The collections are available online and in select luxury hotels and resorts in Indonesia and Miami, with physical stores in the works, beginning in Brazil. Down the line, the brand intends to open in South Africa, Cyprus, Greece, Thailand, Australia, and Dubai.

Agua, whose name means water in Spanish, carries the tranquility, beauty, and fluidity of both beach and water. Agua Brazilian Swimwear is for women of all ages, shapes, and sizes. It is for beach-loving adventurers, forward-thinking fashionistas, eco-conscious daughters of nature, stylish moms, and luxury-seeking wanderers. They are fashion-savvy, and they have a refined taste and understanding of what makes them look and feel good.

Agua Brazilian Swimwear, as it is formally known, was founded by Fatima Rabago, who started the brand a decade ago intending to create a swimwear line that encourages women to embrace their bodies and curves. Teaming up with designer Regina Chalmers, whose fashion resume includes work for Brazilian fashion giant, Hering, and global brands like Adidas, Mizuno, L’Occitaine, Kimberly Clark, and Speedo; the two set out to reshape the swimwear market in both the Philippines and Brazil.

The brand quickly gained traction, and in 2021, Fatima took a step back and handed the reins to Princess Consing and Ferdi Salvador. The former is a seasoned businesswoman and CEO of construction and fintech companies. The latter, is a veteran of the luxury fashion world, having managed buying and sourcing for a premier luxury department store in the Philippines. The two were soon joined by Tanya Abayan of Sotheby’s and Curated by Vault fame, as well as Stephanie Arranz, whose sales experience includes work with Century Properties, Filinvest, and Tres Palmas.
