Expert celebrity hair colorist, Jacob Schwartz, is known for some of the trendiest blondes this year. He is also responsible for the signature blonde color behind Brie Larson and Rebecca Ferguson for the Met Gala, which he calls “Spun with Gold” and “Galactic Blonde.” Jacob shares his inspiration and formula for both hair trends he created below using Schwarzkopf Professional:
Brie Larson | Spun with Gold
These blonde locks are the perfect amount of light and dark blended. Jacob’s inspiration behind “Spun with Gold” is based on his version of the expensive “Monday Blonde,” which involves a thorough amount of micro highlights throughout the entire head of hair to add some extra liveliness to it.

- Fine Highlights with BLONDME Lightener 9+ & BLONDME Premium Developer 7 Vol & 20 Vol. 1:1:1
- Balayage ends with BLONDME Premium Lightener 9+ & BLONDME Premium Developer 30 Vol. 1:2
- On damp hair apply IGORA VIBRANCE 7-0 + 8-11 + IGORA VIBRANCE Activator Gel 6 volume for 10 minutes 1:1:2
- The last 3 minutes apply IGORA VIBRANCE 9-0 + 8-0 + Vibrance activator 6 volume 1:1:2
- Lift up the ends and rinse, shampoo and condition
Rebecca Ferguson | Galactic Blonde
Jacob’s inspiration for Rebecca Fergesson’s blonde hair has to do with the new MGM Sci-Fi Thriller series she has signed onto, called MERCY, where she stars opposite Chris Pratt and Anabelle Wallis. Since Jacob thought of her futuristic character while creating her blonde, he decided to call it “Galactic Blonde.”
