The Met Gala isn’t just about fashion, it’s also about glam. This year featured many talented artists on and off the carpet. We’ve listed a few of our favorite male grooming looks provided by Danessa Myricks Beauty, along with the breakdown of all the products used.
Colman Domingo
Makeup artist Jamie Richmond wanted Colman Domingo‘s look to be sexy and romantic, really taking in the theme of “Sleeping Beauties.” After cleansing Colman’s skin, shaping and grooming his mustache, and applying a hydrating mask to ensure glowy skin all night, the talented makeup artist goes into the beauty breakdown. All products are Danessa Myricks Beauty, which consists of:
- Foundation: Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint
- Concealer: Vision Cream Cover
- Highlight: Colorfix Liquid Metal in Licla Flame
- Powder: Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder
- Contour: Balm Contour
- Lips: Colorfix Mattes in Chestnut
Jaden Smith
For Jaden’s look, makeup artist Pircilla Pae wanted to keep his skin soft and matte. To ensure a soft matte finish, the makeup artist used a combination of skin and facial products by Danessa Myricks Beauty as seen below:
- Skin: Yummy Skin Water Powder Serum and Yummy Skin Moisture Repair Balm Serum
- Face: Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint in shade 12, Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder in Universal + Shade 6, and Groundwork Palette
- Lips: Yummy Skin Moisture Repair Balm Serum
Usher
Makeup artist Lola Okanlawon wanted to go for a more natural look for Usher to enhance his features without looking too heavy. The artist used the following beauty process to create a flawless, male grooming experience:
- Prep the skin with Cerave Ultra Light Moisturizing Gel
- Start by choosing a ColorFix Nude shade that matches the skin tone. Then apply a small amount to the back of the hand and use a small Fluffy stippling brush to spot treat and color correct any blemishes on the skin. The ColorFix Nudes can also be used as a contour or bronzer. Apply a small amount to the hollows of the cheeks, temples, and jawline, then blend well for a natural look.
- After the color fix has dried, apply a small amount of Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint to the back of the hand and use the Yummy Skin Microfiber Velvet Sponge to gently blend the Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint into the skin, starting from the center of the face and blending outwards.
- Using the Yummy Skin Velour Puff press the Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder into the skin to help mattify the t zone areas and lock in the skin tint.
- Finish the Look with Caudalie setting spray
Each celebrity looked flawless on the carpet. Which look was your favorite?
