With the hotter months here and the seasons changing, there is no better time to spruce up your look, including your hair! Whether you decide to change your cut or color or simply get your usual style, there are a multitude of ways your hair represents you during the summertime. Here are summer 2024’s hottest hair trends to help you find your next look.

Bobs

Summer is always the time where people get their first bobs, and this year is no exception! There’s no question about the convenience of a bob: it allows the breeze to hit your neck in hot weather, it’s easy to style despite the humidity, and it’s a great way to reset your hair and start healthy again. Celebrities such as Elle Fanning, Gigi Hadid, America Ferrera, and more have been seen sporting this refreshing cut, setting the trend for many more this summer.

Broccoli Perms

Gen Z has been bringing this new style out for the boys this summer, known as the broccoli perm. Favored by TikTok stars like Noah Beck and Jack Doherty, the broccoli perm removes the traditional middle part and replaces it with long, layered curls on the top and brushed forward, resembling the style it’s named after. This style has become so popular that even David Corenswet, as Clark Kent, in the upcoming take on Superman, features the titular character with this perm!

Longer Bangs

Longer bangs are perfect for those transitioning their fringe or simply too lazy to trim their grown-out bangs. These face-framing pieces seamlessly blend into layered hair, making it easy to style while still looking effortless. Sabrina CarpenterJenna OrtegaSofia Vergara, and more have been seen donning this look, emphasizing how uncomplicated yet sophisticated one can look while sporting these bangs.

90’s-Style Layers

The 1990s saw the “it girl” haircut with what was known as “The Rachel,” synonymous with the character of the same name in the hit sitcom Friends, played by Jennifer Aniston. This summer, that haircut has returned with an ultra-layered, wearable cut for any occasion. Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, and more have embraced this timeless style, demonstrating just how popular it will no doubt be in the future.

Natural Texture

With the rising humidity and temperatures, summer is the time to embrace your natural hair. Texture, frizz, and that air-dried wave look are becoming popular, giving that beachy look everybody wants for the summertime while the humidity hydrates the hair and gives it that perfect shine. Celebrities such as Simone Ashley, Issa Rae, and Danielle Brooks have been seen flaunting their natural hair, giving us all the confidence to wear our texture out and about this summer.
