Rebecca Collinson-Smith, an Australian designer and photographer, debuted her two brands, Draw on Swimwear and Hunting Hue, at Miami Swim Week on May 30th.
The runway show began showcasing the Draw on Swimwear collection, an assemblage of swimsuits and accessories for children. What’s so special about these pieces is that they act as a canvas for kids, ultimately being a fun way for them to express themselves creatively. Using either temporary or permanent markers, kids can draw on the swimsuit and wear their designs out. Children modeled one-pieces, rash guards, shorts, and bucket hats with drawn designs.
Afterward, Hunting Hue’s collection “Icons of Sydney, Australia” debuted. According to the press release, it’s a selection of swimwear and resort pieces inspired by the city’s landmarks and spirit.
“I’ve always been captivated by Sydney’s vibrant energy and unique beauty. From its iconic landmarks to its lively culture, the city has constantly inspired me. With the ‘Icons Of Sydney, Australia’ collection, I wanted to pay homage to the breathtaking essence of this city, capturing its spirit in wearable art that celebrates its landmarks and its people. Each piece in the collection is a testament to the rich tapestry of Sydney’s identity, inviting wearers to carry a piece of its magic with them wherever they go.” Collinson-Smith was quoted expressing in the press release.
Models strutted wearing pieces from their eight-drop collection, entitled Icebergs, Bridge, Opera, Bondi, Bronte, Sails, Wild Ocean, and Sand. These are all currently available for pre-sale on their website. Ladies dazzled in ocean-printed bikinis and one-pieces, many of which contained sleeves or interesting cutouts, while gents modeled bottoms with elegant and colorful designs. From deep ocean hues to clear crystalline blues, the latest pieces carried the cool whirlwind magic of the sea.
Additional pieces displaying Sydney landscapes as wearable pictures included headscarves, sarongs, neckties, tops, and sarongs. The collection also included fits for children, making this another family-inclusive swimwear variety.
Both Draws on Swimwear and Hunting Hue focus on creating swimwear with sustainable materials. You can learn more about their brand at www.huntinghue.com and www.drawonswimwear.com.
