Meet Luther Toston: Founder of OMNI Entertainment Group

In today’s day and age, there is no shortage of talent in the world, and with that, there is no shortage of agencies that represent those talented people. Of course, there are thousands of agencies out there, yet some stand out more than most due to the stars they present. Look no further than OMNI Entertainment Group, an agency that represents members of the LGBTQ+ community. Founded by Luther Toston, OMNI Entertainment Group represents anybody and everybody, having 50 stars from drag queens to musicians to artists and more on their roster. So, how did OMNI come to be, and who is Luther Toston?

Born in a small town in Louisiana called Ville Platte, Toston always had a passion for entertainment and the arts. Initially pursuing a career in music production and songwriting, he moved to Los Angeles, CA, after graduating college. “Funnily enough, I ended up working in the tech industry almost right after moving to LA,” he said. “It was tech that was kind of parallel to entertainment.” Toston moved to New York to continue his tech career at Omnicom Media Group. By the age of 25, he was an executive.

After nearly 7 years at Omnicom, Toston began to feel unsettled in his career. “I was getting bored, and I felt like I was using my intelligence, resources, and creativity to make rich people richer,” he said. After making a friend in the drag world, Toston realized this could be an opportunity for a career shift. “I saw a need for high integrity, high competency, artists management, specifically for LGBTQ artists,” he said. “And I said, ‘I think I could do a better job than a lot of the options that are currently available.'”

With the support and encouragement of his friend, Toston sacrificed his six-figure income to start his own artist management company, OMNI Entertainment Group, paying homage to his previous job. “Omni means ‘all-encompassing’,” he said. I wanted there to be an all-encompassing agency and that was all-inclusive when it came to the interests of these artists, an agency that wouldn’t overlook their best interests, their worth, and what they contribute to the industry.”

Toston now represents over 50 artists across all kinds of creative work. Many of his clientele appear on shows such as RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, Legendary, Queen of the Universe, Pose, and America’s Got Talent, coming from countries like Mexico, South Korea, France, the US, and more. “Some of my artists are drag queens, some of them are drag kings, some of them are drag things,” he said. “I do pride myself on having cultivated this kind of rainbow of all kinds of brilliant artists from all over the world.”

Many recording artists are also Toston clients. “The current phase that we’re in and that we’d like to build on is beefing up our roster of queer recording artists and doing what I can to try and offer more resources and support for queer music artists,” he said. Artists like Miss Toto, Corey Craig, Ellis Miah, Astrid Aurelia, and The Dahli can already claim Toston as their manager.

Despite all Toston and his artists’ success, he’s always looking for more regarding OMNI. “One of my goals is to take my existing artists to the highest levels of prestige within their industries,” he said. “I want to launch an OMNI music imprint. I want to start my publishing company division and my own publishing company for songwriting. We want to have the respect in the industry, and we want to grow our platforms.”

OMNI Entertainment Group is Toston’s most fulfilling achievement, a black-owned and queer-owned business. “I feel a sense of purpose I didn’t before,” he said. “I feel appreciated. I work with some amazing artists who take the time to show gratitude, and there’s a lot of mutual respect and appreciation for these relationships.” For more information on OMNI Entertainment Group, check out their website here.
