After a 15-year hiatus, the king of pants, aka Alvin Valley, has made his awaited return at NYFW. Starting his design journey in 1995, dressing Miami socialities, Valley decided to expand his operation to the Big Apple. With this experience, the brand developed their key business strategy: interacting directly with consumers. Maintaining a humanist approach has led Valley to forge close relationships with clients such as Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, and Gwyneth Paltrow. For the grand finale at Runway 7, Valley showcased his upcoming FW’25 collection, titled “The Wellington Girl.” Taking place at Sony Hall on February 9th, the audience gathered enthusiastically for the last show of the week.
To all fur jacket fans, this is a collection to keep on your radar. One of the first looks featured a houndstooth jacket with a fur trim collar, hemline, and cuffs. Styled with a black leather skirt, the piece set the tone for one of the recurring themes: motorcycle. Leather boots are dominated by slouch and shark styles, with chunky and flat heels. Boots were paired in contrast with tweed jackets and sweaters to mix sophistication and edge. Laser cut belts were standout accessories on the runway, adding drama to ensembles. Belts were wide and placed on the waist, providing an hourglass silhouette similar to a corset. Now you might be thinking: What about the pants? The king did not disappoint, starting with light wash boot cut jeans inspired by western fashion. Maroon leather pants looked ideal chic office wear, while sparkly wide-legged pants were perfect for a night out.
