Located in the Mercedes-Benz of Manhattan, New York Men’s Day held a morning and afternoon showcase featuring emerging brands specializing in contemporary men’s apparel. I had the pleasure of attending the morning showcase, which featured four brands- Archie, Clara Son, Peak Lapel, and Oxblood Zebra. Guests arriving at the venue entered through the Maybach Lounge and were then guided to the long hallway against large windows that displayed each of the four brands’ spring and summer collections. Exemplifying menswear that not only stands out but tells a story, these NYC-based designers are sure to catch your eye.

First up is the androgynous and utilitarian Archie’s Spring and Summer 2026 collection, which features the classic fabrics we all know and love in a versatile fashion. This clothing line flaunts a meticulous eye for detail that is represented in each piece’s tailored precision. The collection strays away from bright patterns and instead details an array of neutral tones ranging from slate gray, buttercream, and navy, emphasizing a focus on construction rather than distracting visuals.

The genderless brand was founded by Mark Smith Clarke in 2018 and is rooted in New York City. Clarke’s sustainable design process is visually apparent in the structural integrity of the individual garments. Sourcing fabrics from mills in Japan, he sources, designs, and photographs the apparel while the construction of the pieces is carried out at a family-owned factory in the city’s garment district. The slow fashion process in limited productions creates a mindful message, reminding consumers that quality workwear does not equate to unethical production processes.

At the NYMD showcase, models took turns posing on a rotating wooden platform that was spun by other models, which gave guests a 360 view of the pieces. This choice for display highlights the brand’s emphasis on functionality while maintaining a clean-cut preppy silhouette. Clarke’s vision upholds a sustainable, genderless, multifaceted image that is sure to pave the way for fashion that’s sensible.
