On Thursday, September 11, renowned outerwear brand Hawke and Co. previewed their newest drop of clothes. A classic staple brand that was founded in 1958, their newest drop will feature a variety of new pieces and a new women’s line.
Hawke and Co.’s roots lie in Brooklyn, New York, where the Rosenberg family created the brand. Now, they’ve launched several popular pieces, including a packable jacket and even a jacket for horses. Michael Macko, the fashion director of the brand, says that each new piece he creates is meant to fit a specific niche. For example, the brand recently dropped fishing-inspired outerwear because he noticed that clothes designed for fishing are few and far between.
Despite churning out so many new pieces with each drop, Macko says that everything is thought through very carefully, led by the direction of the brand’s owner, Michael Rosenberg. “He’s the creator,” he said. “He’s such a perfectionist!” Macko said that inspiration comes from the runway and the trends they see on people on the street. Western wear is becoming hot, so he made some pieces that featured western patterns and accessorized jackets to get that desert feeling.
This approach to creating new things has led to a brand that can serve anybody’s outerwear needs, whether they want something for a simple hiking trip or an activity that fits a trending aesthetic. Stay tuned for their newest drops, including more women’s clothing and even a new sock!
