Brining modern luxury to the runway, designer Frederick Anderson presented his FW26 womenswear collection. In the midst of New York Fashion Week, 34 looks graced the catwalk at Nebula nightclub on February 11th, and it was a night to remember.

Drawing inspiration from the Blues and soul genres, this season’s collection looked to great singer-songwriters such as Nina Simone and Amy Winehouse for innovation and artistry. Speaking of singers, Tony Award nominee Amber Iman opened the fashion show with an electrifying rendition of Simone’s “Feeling Good.”

Featuring a dark color palette, the collection highlighted a variety of fabrics, including Anderson’s brand signature Chantilly lace, wool tweeds, tulle, chiffon, and metallic laser-cut vegan leather.

“I wanted to write a story about finding strength in all the blackness,” said Anderson. “We’re in a black time, and you can find an inner strength in that. Throughout the collection, there are all these layers and different fabrications that layer on top. It’s all in the details, and it’s all for the woman to enjoy. It isn’t for everyone.”

Alongside the designer were hairstylist Edward Tricomi, makeup artist Michelle Webb, skincare by Michael Nicolo for Grimoire, and casting by Anthony Jones.
