The Nolcha Shows, now in its 15th year of events, took an innovative approach on New York Fashion Week at Mercedes-Benz Manhattan. On September 10, this event combined fashion and technology by presenting a technology experience lounge and runway shows. Many creators and influencers attended the event, participating in tech experiential activations, including the viewing of the Mercedes-Benz new all-electric vehicle portfolio. In addition to the unique tech experience, the Nolcha Shows included three runway showtimes at 2pm, 5pm, and 8pm, from a number of innovative designers. Here’s what each designer showcased at the 8pm show.
For the last showtime, Fite Fashion displayed their sustainable womenswear. Bringing a little bit of edge to the couture designs, this collection strives to empower women. With a range of designs from high neck lines, draped necklines, bows, and sparkles, these designs also call attention to a snakeskin pattern. This pattern is inspired by the invasive pythons in the Everglades, using their hides in their designs to keep them from going to waste.
Next, Oh Polly showcased their Spring/Summer 2024 collection, bringing a sense of playfulness to the ready-to-wear brand. The shiny dresses and sets were made up of a nude palette, with different shades of purple also coming into view. The trendy styles presented ruffles, sparkles, and flattering necklines, perfect for parties and everyday wear.
The Francesca Cottone collection heavily focused on blazers, each with their own minimal yet distinctive design. The collection was also made up of coats, jackets, and suits in addition to the blazer. The Francesca Cottone brand can be recognized by the wide color palette and attentive tailoring. Each piece was accompanied with a bag and tie or neckerchief to accessorize and bring the look together.
