Laurence Xu at the Prince Kung’s Palace Fashion Show

On the evening of Wednesday, September 27th, world-renowned fashion designer Laurence Xu opened the first edition of the Sino-French Fashion and Culture Festival. Staged at the China Cultural Center in Paris, the show was called The Prince Kung’s Palace Fashion Show.

Hosted by the Prince Kung’s Palace Museum, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, the show was held in the main building of the China Cultural Center by the Seine, the Montesquieu Hotel. Designer of the night Xu used elements of Prince Kung’s Palace, such as the architecture, gardens, and drawings to create a tasteful collection with hints of Chinese culture. Combining Western-style draping with Miao and Suzhou embroidery techniques, Xu demonstrates his amazing craftsmanship to showcase the Chinese “fine and graceful lifestyle” to the world.

Filled with different colors, cuts, and styles, Xu’s collection is the embodiment of luxury and refinement. Here are the looks from the show:
