From Wednesday, October 11 to Friday, October 13, the One Fine Day Bridal Market is in session. The number-one trade show during Bridal Fashion Week, the market connects up and coming bridal designers with potential buyers from all over the world under one roof. This year, the bridal market was sponsored by beauty brand ALLEVEN and held in Canoe Studios in Hudson Yards, right near the pier with a gorgeous view of the water and the New York City skyline. Here are some designers from One Fine Day Bridal Market, Day 1.

Tempête
Loire Dress, Tempete

Tempête, the French word for “storm,” is a Canadian brand that prides themselves on their impeccable craftsmanship. This year’s collection was inspired by nature. “We’re deeply inspired by the wild brides, the untamed bride, and we want to cater to her,” said a salesperson for Tempête. Adding textures, such as appliqués that shimmer like the sun’s reflection on the water or freshwater pearls only add to the nature element of this season’s collection. The brand also makes their own jewelry.

It’s also important to Tempête that their dresses are sustainable. “We make it sustainable by allowing brides to rewear the pieces, because the pieces are really versatile and all the pieces can be worn after,” the salesperson said. “We designed the pieces so they can be mixed and matched together easily and styled the way the brides want.”

BAÉ

BAÉ is a new brand that just launched! Their online platform will be released soon, but the founders have worked in the bridal industry for over twelve years. The main purpose of BAÉ is their sustainable practices. “We have quite a lot of experience in bridal, and we know that the brides are looking for something versatile, something they can wear again,” one of the founders said. “The whole idea of BAÉ is being sustainable and dresses that you can wear after the wedding.”

To make this idea possible, all of the dresses sold by BAÉ have detachable accessories, from ginormous bows, to flowers, to sleeves. They are also available in a wide range of colors to fit every occasion. “They’re perfect for rehearsal dinners, smaller weddings at the registry office, as a second dress, elopement weddings,” said the founder.

Dora Sasu
Dora Sasu

Dora Sasu is a Romanian brand based in Miami. Founder Sasu is a one-woman show, where she designs and creates all of the dresses herself. “Dora absolutely loves the glam style,” said sales representative Charlene Westfall. “So we use lots of sparkles, lots of 3D floral lace, lots of very busy patterning, but it all flows so beautifully together.”

Sasu’s newest collection is on the simpler side, but she also has a Second-Look line. “The second look consists of short mini dresses and jumpsuits, over skirts, and some high-low pieces,” said Westfall. Just like Sasu’s wedding dress line, the dresses are heavily embellished and very glam.

Agata Wojtkiewicz & Agnieszka Światły

These two brands are from Poland, but have very different styles. Agata Wojtkiewicz specializes in plain, minimalistic silver dresses. “The new season is about the new fabrics,” founder Agata Wojtkiewicz said. “It’s a little bit more shiny; the silk, satin, and also quite a heavy fabric: velvet.”

Agnieszka Światły

Agnieszka Światły, on the other hand, works with lace applications. “We love the feminine, we love the sexy, we love the transparents,” said designer Agnieszka Światły. “Our dresses are more rich.”

ALLEVEN
ALLEVEN Instant Color

The sponsor for One Fine Day Bridal Market is none other than makeup and skincare brand ALLEVEN. Founded by supermodel Celia Forner, the products focus on how they can benefit and hydrate the skin while giving long-lasting makeup. “All her products have hyaluronic acid; some beautiful, really nourishing ingredients that feed the skin, but also do the job of longevity, which is what you need in the bridal world,” said bridal makeup artist Fawn Monique, who represented ALLEVEN that day.

ALLEVEN has a couple two-in-one or even three-in-one products, such as a cheek, lips, and eyes product called Instant Color. The product dries almost instantaneously and works on every skin tone. Once again, the product has hydrating ingredients so the skin isn’t left dry in its wake. “It feels like skincare makeup,” said River, another representative of ALLEVEN.
