On Thursday, September 11, New York Fashion Week officially kicked off, and with that, Art Hearts Fashion began its seasonal runway shows. On Day 1, the first of their three shows featured a runway showing looks from designers Maya and Kenneth Barlis. Here’s how the night went.
Sustainable fashion brand Maya made their New York Fashion Week debut as the first designer showcased on the Art Hearts Fashion runway. Black was a prominent color among the runway, with subtle hints of red patterning along the edges of the fabrics. Ecuadorian designer María Ángeles Hernández was inspired by the traditional weaving techniques they were taught as a child, and garments are made with recycled materials. An advocate for ethical fashion, Maya’s new collection is environmentally conscious and invokes a love for nature.

Luxury fashion designer Kenneth Barlis was the second designer to showcase their newest collection at Art Hearts. A couture evening wear brand, it has gained recognition in several esteemed publications, and several celebrities have graced its designs on the red carpet. This season, Barlis unveiled numerous gowns and suits in a variety of colors and patterns, with a floral theme undertone throughout the entire collection.
