Growing up, I spent many of my summers in Italy, visiting my family. With fashion styles always changing, it can be difficult to figure out what to pack for vacation. Even though fashion changes from season to season, there are always staples that never fail to make a comeback. So, if you’re planning on spending the summer in Italy, here are some fashion tips!
Tip #1
When in Rome, it is preferred to wear clothing with more coverage, because many churches and religious establishments will not let you enter with exposed shoulders or short-length bottoms. So, wearing shirts that cover your shoulders, and pants ranging from denim jeans to trousers are seen more in this area. If you plan on wearing a tank top or something with exposed shoulders, tie a sweater around your neck or across your body so you can easily cover up if entering a religious establishment and just add a little something extra to the outfit.
Tip #2
Long skirts are essential and make an appearance every summer. Whether it’s long denim skirts or long, flowy skirts, this clothing item is a staple. Cute tanks or tube tops are typically paired with long skirts and are also seen with low-rise jeans or other pants.
Tip #3
When traveling to the beachy areas of Italy, such as the Amalfi Coast, sundresses are always showcased. Whether the dress is short, midi, or long, sun dresses are perfect to wear in these beach towns. Recently, floral and polka dot patterns and white dresses have been trending for this upcoming summer, so I’m sure they will come into view in Italy as well.
Tip #4
There’s a lot of walking around in Italy, so bring comfortable shoes such as sneakers, sandals, and loafers. For more dressed up occasions such as going out to dinner, wear strappy, sandal, or flip flop heels.
Tip #5
There are many kinds of accessories, so it is difficult to pick and choose which ones to bring. Accessories to bring that are seen a lot are belts, ranging from leather brown to chain belts, as well as the addition of rings and necklaces to tie together each outfit. Sunglasses are also essential, since it is always bright and sunny for summers in Italy.
These are just some staple items that might come in handy when packing for a trip to Italy for your summer vacation. I know packing can be stressful, so I hope these tips help when deciding what to bring on your trip!
