The holiday season is here! Many of us are running around for the perfect gifts, attending parties, making preparations for holiday photos, and getting our homes ready with Christmas decor. Some of these can be the tasks you wish Santa could do for you. After all, we all want that picture-perfect backdrop come Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.
Luckily, some of our favorite influencers offer a lot of inspiration during the days approaching the holiday season!
Kathy Hilton – No tree? No problem!
It is no secret that her kids call her the Christmas Queen. Featured in several TV and online shows for her THOROUGHLY decorated home, her decorative prowess unleashes itself for the holidays. Kathy is known for leaving no corner untouched by Christmas, and each room in her home has a different theme–as if Christmas wasn’t its own theme!
A key feature of her decor is garlands. Garlands everywhere! And while Kathy has many Christmas trees, her decor carries itself well with garlands alone, as long as she sticks to the room’s colors! Her grand staircase is painted a cool green with touches of white, and the frames of the paintings and banister of the stairs are a golden color. Playing with these, the tree in this room and the garlands surrounding the doorway perfectly match those colors. (And yes, there is a tree in this photo below, but even if it weren’t there, the room would carry itself well!)
Kris Jenner – Nix the ornaments!
The world’s ultimate momager undoubtedly demands her home be decked for the holidays. After all, she has a growing family of nearly 30 people (extended family not included) that she hosts for the season. Over the years, her famous entrance, foyer, and staircase have featured a variety of holiday decor themes so beautiful that her home was featured in Architectural Digest just for its holiday decor!
While mimicking everything Kris does in her home can be difficult, you can steal a few decorative ideas without breaking the bank or a sweat! One no-fuss look she adopted was putting garlands, trees, and lights–no ornaments!–around her home to give it a simple but festive feel. How perfect is gold and green? Just check out Kris’ outfit!
Chiara Ferragni – Classic and Homey
Nothing beats sticking to red, gold, and green at Christmas time. They are, after all, the colors of the season! Model and blogger Chiara Ferragni showed off her new home’s Christmas decor in the last week of November. She decorated her large green Christmas tree with red and gold ornaments and used teddy bears and large toy soldiers at the bottom of the tree to give the presents height and dimension.
Heart Evangelista – Minimalist and Neat
The fashion world’s darling kept things nice and neat when celebrating Christmas pre-pandemic. She opted for a green Christmas tree and large white ornaments for contrast. The white went seamlessly with her home’s decor, adding a simple festive touch. Take a page out of her book and survey your surroundings. Instead of touching every corner of your home with the Christmas wand, focus on one decorative piece that draws its colors from those in the room you are decorating.
The stacks of Hermes boxes under the tree don’t hurt the decorative touch either!
Before overwhelming yourself with decor ideas, start with what you have at home. Survey the room or rooms you’re working with and look at what you already have on hand. Take a page from each of these influencers’ looks, and keep in mind that the less you decorate, the less you take down!
