I Went to NY NOW, Here’s What I Thought

New York City’s Javits Convention Center and Pier 94 buzz with excitement twice a year as NY NOW takes over, becoming the ultimate playground for brands, buyers, and designers. This isn’t just another trade show—it’s where creativity, innovation, and commerce collide to shape the future of retail. I was invited to NY NOW this year, and I’m excited to share my thoughts and experiences with you, besties.

NY NOW is where legacy meets innovation. Thousands of established and emerging brands gather to unveil their latest collections, from eco-friendly crafts to luxurious lifestyle products. With over 4,500 suppliers across categories like home, lifestyle, and handmade, there’s something to catch everyone’s eye.

But the real magic of NY NOW is the experience. Picture several sections filled with everything from beauty and skincare to gourmet housewares and contemporary crafts. It was so stimulating for the senses, offering inspiration at every turn. Whether you’re hunting for the perfect graphic stationery or a chic home decor piece, NY NOW is the place where trends are born. The energy is infectious! Education is at the cornerstone of NY NOW, with panels that are a wealth of information from brands sharing their success strategies. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a newcomer, there’s something invaluable for everyone.

And thanks to NY NOW’s tailored programming and digital tools, finding products and brands that align with your values has never been easier. NY NOW isn’t just a trade show—it’s a community. And let’s get into some standout finds: Nose Best Candles set the mood with hand-poured candles with sassy names, which include a playlist and cocktail recipe. Talk about setting the vibe! Ruiz Atelier’s Rosa incense sticks were heavenly, while Vismaya’s 100% cotton bandannas were as versatile as beautiful. Estetika’s BABEE Makeup Clutch Bag was a game-changer, combining style and sustainability with its wipeable, plant-based material.

One of the most innovative products I saw was from This Candle is Lit: a cherry-shaped birthday candle made of natural soy wax – adorable and eco-friendly! Pure Iskar charmed with their handmade Irish soap shaped like a Curragh sheep, while Sooki Coo Candles from Scotland wowed with their black plum and rhubarb wax melts. And I can’t forget Gillian Cosmetics, who sent me home with an Amazon Clay Mask and Tsubaki Facial Cleansing Balm—perfect for celebrating bold, unique beauty.

NY NOW is a treasure trove for small businesses, offering diverse products and opportunities. Plus, the swag bag they sent me home with was the chef’s kiss for an unforgettable experience!
