On May 5th and 6th, the biggest makeup convention – The Makeup Show – was held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan, New York. A place where some of the most influential artists and brands in the beauty industry can gather together for an educational and unforgettable shopping experience, The Makeup Show offers seminars, panels, and special event discounts to some of the industry’s top brands. Here are some of the brands that were at this exclusive event.

A skincare brand founded by Brazilian businesswoman Cleo Pillon, AEGISDERMA was created at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, a period when there was no better time for care. Selling products such as cleansers, serums, and even a gua-sha, the brand has a variety of products that fit every customer’s needs. “AEGISDERMA has everything you need for your skincare,” a sales representative for the brand said.

Founded by Raissa Yame, her beauty brand of the same name is a black-owned business for customers of color. A first-generation African immigrant from the Ivory Coast, Yame was inspired by her experiences in the harsh light of the modeling industry to create her brand to empower those who don’t yet feel their best. “We want to empower women in general,” she said.
