KÍLÈNTÁR Makes NYFW Debut At The Green Show

On September 6, 2024, The Green Show made its highly anticipated return to New York Fashion Week. Once again setting the standard for sustainability in noteworthy cultural events, this year’s show was held at Mastercard’s 11-story, 214,000-square-foot tech hub in New York City. The event brought together fashion, sustainability, and innovation with an energetic series of panels. In addition to this exciting convergence, it was the New York Fashion Week debut of KÍLÈNTÁR.

Before the runway show, The Green Show hosted three panels on sustainability’s environmental, social, and economic impact, moderated by Jan Roessner, CEO of One Earth Rising. Featuring a diverse group, experts included Michelle Adepoju, Founder and Creative Director of KÍLÈNTÁR; Sergeant Johnny James Hines III, Special Assignment at Youth Strategies, NYC Police Department; Peter Rose, Senior Director at Hydro Quebec; Anthony Boccardi, President of The HC Spirits; João Campos, Growth Manager at B LAB; and Ellen Jackowski, Chief Sustainability Officer at Mastercard.

KÍLÈNTÁR’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, “Mama Ìbẹ́ta,” celebrates the brand’s commitment to ethical practices and the artistry of African craftsmanship. “As we continue to grow, my commitment remains steadfast: to uplift and empower the women who bring our visions to life, to maintain ethical practices in everything we do, and to create collections that are as meaningful as they are beautiful,” said Michelle Adepoju, Founder and Creative Director of KÍLÈNTÁR.

Each item of clothing showcased a powerful narrative of culture, heritage, and sustainability. The garments were handwoven by skilled women in Burkina Faso using sustainable dyes, with vibrant contributions from Nigerian female dyers and beaders. Completing the vision of sustainable luxury on the runway were shoes from OMÔL, hair and makeup by Romana New York, and nail art by Bernadette Thompson.

The afterparty on the rooftop terrace offered breathtaking city views accompanied by locally sourced cuisine by DIG. To tie together the theme of sustainability, guests indulged in exclusive Aupale Vodka cocktails and Rosaluna Mezcal.

The Green Show continues to bring together visionaries to redefine the boundaries of fashion and sustainability. For more information about the show and its future events, visit www.thegreenshowatfashionweek.com.
