KZ_K Studio previewed their new Warm Cycle Collection at Great Jones Street Studio on October 25th. Polish-born Creative Director and Co-Founder Karolina Zmarlak was present at the studio to walk guests through the collection and share insights about her sustainability practices and inspirations.

Zmarlak finds a lot of inspiration in her life partner, Jesse Keyes. Keyes is a trained architect and entrepreneur whose dedication to modernism, functionality, and versatility heavily influence Zmarlak’s designs. Keyes even designed the studio, taking a blank white room and transforming it into a warm and inviting space where Zmarlak’s designs can shine.

Functionality and versatility are found throughout the collection. Reversible pieces and timeless designs ensure that anyone who buys a KZ_K garment will have it for decades. Zmarlak is not interested in fast-moving trends. Like a good architect, she designs her pieces with form and longevity in mind.

Zmarlak was also inspired by her travels through Italy when designing her Warm Cycle Collection. Italy, she says, is torn between the modern and the traditional, which is reflected in the collection’s modern silhouettes contrasted with subtle touches of antiquity.

Standouts in the collection include the marbled lambskin leather cropped jacket and mini-skirt, recycled nylon cotton blend knit dress, and reversible polo dress. These pieces are made with high-quality, eco-friendly materials to promote a slow-fashion approach to garment making. The Warm Cycle Collection is a direct manifestation of the brand’s focus on responsible manufacturing, client relationships, and mindful and minimalist design.
