Last month, FASHIONPHILE, the renowned pre-loved shopping platform, shared its first-ever ultra-luxury resale report on YouTube. In the report, Ana Sofia, the company’s procurement specialist, shared their 2023 luxury handbag trends.

'Quiet Luxury' v.s. 'Loud Luxury'
According to the company’s data, “searches for ‘quiet’ luxury brands like Loewe, Celine, and Bottega Veneta, have surged by 34%, while searches for bold prints like polka dots have increased by an astounding 71%.” Ana Sofia also stated that some of the most wanted bags were none other than LV x Yayoi Kusama Bags!
There is no doubt the ‘Quiet Luxury’ trend is in, but at the same time, we still love the fun eye-catching bags, especially when they are limited collaborative pieces.
Color Trends of 2023
We were not surprised to hear that Pantone color of the year ‘Viva Magenta’, a.k.a. Barbiecore Pink, has been one of the most popular colors of 2023. Other popular colors include vibrant hues of blues (Blue Atoll or Persian Jewel), red (Fiery Red), and metallics. Trend forecasting does affect our shopping choices!
Popular: Textured Bags
It sounds like textured bag of the year so far go to Denim and Raffia! Though these are more seasonal fabrics, according to FASHIONPHILE, they “observed a 30% sales increase for raffia and woven bags, and a substantial 77.5% sales boost for accessories crafted in denim” (compared to the same time of year in 2022).
Most Sought-After Investment Classics Under $5000
Lastly, the company introduced what they call ‘entry-level’ ultra-luxury handbags: Louis Vuitton, Pochette Méits, Chanel WOC, and Gucci Soho Disco, the items in the picture above are FASHIONPHILE‘s recommendations under $5000. They believe that the bags will also maintain the value.
