Fashion designer Malan Breton unveiled his S/S 2025 collection on September 7th at the Leman Ballroom during New York Fashion Week. The newest assortment explored themes of betrayal, revenge, and hope in a collection brimming with edge and the avant-garde.
The runway show notes, “Oft in the quiet recesses of a bruised heart, where betrayal has struck with cruel precision, there blooms a sorrowful yearning, like autumn’s last rose clinging to the dying light. Fierce and explosive, revenge courses through the veins like a storm through the night, relentlessly pursuing retribution.”
Prominent looks were atypical edgy leather suits and trailing dresses that exuded mystery and self-control. The outfits echo a renewed sense of self-construction after the pain of a stab to the heart.
A Malan Breton media alert revealed its initial inspiration was from 19th and 20th-century fairy tales. This was reflected in a few opulent dresses and glamorous corsetted garments, which were notable aspects of the time period. The S/S 2025 edgy collection is most appealing to those who enjoy the journey of retribution.
