On Tuesday, March 12, denim and jeans brand Mavi showcased their upcoming Fall/Winter 2024 collection in Flatiron, Manhattan. Based in Istanbul, the brand controls the entire manufacturing process of its denim to guarantee the highest quality for its customers, focusing on sustainability and using less water and energy.
Mavi’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection embraces the newest fashion trends, adding several low-rise pants and wider leg fits, and even including some new elevated essential pieces. The brand also emphasized using repurposed fabrics this season to minimize their impact. Each pair of Mavi’s jeans is made up of a specific blend, created for different purposes and having different weights. Here are the unique blends featured in their Fall/Winter 2024 collection.
Classic Blue
Made with sustainable TENCEL lyocell fibers, Classic Blue is a unisex blend that is breathable and soft to the touch but gives the appearance of classic jeans. “This is the first time we’re doing a low-rise as well,” said Katie Libertelli, the sales coordinator for Mavi. “We were asked for it, so here we are.”
In addition to low-rise pants, Classic Blue jeans will also be available in a marine pocket style, cargo style, cuff style, and an eye-catching color-block style.
Flex Blue
Flex Blue jeans were given an upgrade for this upcoming season. Now made with organic cotton and a sustainable elastane blend, these pants allow for maximum stretch and are comfortable for wearing all day. “What’s nice about Flex Blue is it stretches, but it also goes back to the shape,” Libertelli explains.
Flex Blue jeans are made in tighter fits such as skinny, cross flare, and other styles that cling to the body more.
Feather Blue
While quite similar to the Flex Blue blend, Feather Blue jeans are unisex and made of a bit more TENCEL. “Everyone just loves it because if you feel it, it’s just amazing and stretchy,” Libertelli said. Popular fits in this blend are the Kathleen, a slim boyfriend fit, and the Sydney, which is a high-rise flair fit.
The Feather Blue blend is made in jeans as well as jackets, with the brand’s staple denim jacket, the Samantha, always being made with that fabrication.
Luxe Twill
Another unisex blend, Luxe Twill is one of the brand’s best fabrications. Introduced a couple of seasons ago and again made with TENCEL, this blend is super soft and provides the most flattering drape. “You see just more cool fits of the season in this fabrication,” said Libertelli.
Luxe Twill will be sold in a mid-rise cargo pant, barrel-fit cargo pants, classic chinos, and more.
Organic Selvedge
Organic Selvedge is a vintage-inspired fabric that feels more like a classic jean. “Most selvedges have zero stretch, they’re just one hundred percent rigid,” Libertelli stated. “Ours does have a little bit of stretch in it and it’s very soft.”
Organic Selvedge jeans will be in three different shades, ranging in a variety of lights and darks, as well as will feature subtle detailing along the cuffs.
SuperMove
SuperMove is another fabrication that is similar to Feather Blue. A versatile blend, SuperMove is made to achieve structure, stretch, and fit retention all in one. “SuperMove is more clean,” said Libertelli. “You could dress it up a little more darker.”
SuperMove will be offered in a variety of slim-fitting jeans.
Active Comfort
A stretchy and lightweight fabrication, Active Comfort is a blend made for movement. One of the most comfortable fabrications at Mavi, Active Comfort feels like your favorite pair of sweats but looks as clean-cut as your most rigid pair of jeans.
Active Comfort will feature a new pant fit called “The Ryder,” which will feature a drawstring and a slip pocket.
Sportswear
Launched just a few seasons ago, Mavi has expanded its brand into sportswear and has already become quite popular. For feminine styles, the sportswear collection will feature cropped layering pieces, blouses, cashmere-blend sweaters, and more, while for masculine styles, the sportswear collection will feature heavy-weight T-shirts, structured plaids, matching sets, and more.
Fashion Pieces
In keeping with the newest trends, Mavi unveiled some upcoming fashion pieces for the Fall/Winter 2024 season. Feminine pieces include denim maxi skirts, color blocks, blazers, and even cheetah-printed sets. Masculine fashion pieces will include corduroys, feather tweeds, and five-pocket jeans.
