Morilee celebrated its Platinum 70th Anniversary on Thursday with a Fall 2024 bridal showcase. Carnegie Hall was packed for the brand’s important milestone. The event opened with a speech from CEO Terri Eagle, in which she celebrated the brand’s accomplishments and thanked those who made the event possible.
The collection featured 30 looks, each filled with the spirit of Morilee’s legacy. Designer Madeline Gardner captured the magic of bridal fashion with pearl and floral beading, lace appliqués, and luxurious satin fabrics.
Eyes widened for the final look called Nataniella, a flamboyant tulle ball gown with black three-dimensional floral lace appliqués, detachable off-the-shoulder sleeves, and a veil to match. The contrast of pure white hues and black embellishments pushed the boundaries of bridal couture, which perfectly falls in line with Gardner’s vision of an iconic new era of bridal fashion.
After the show, Gardner spoke on her work with the brand and honored her FIT roots by awarding a lucky winner $10,000 in scholarship money. This marked the first year of the Morilee Madeline Gardner x FIT Scholarship.
The night ended with a cocktail party and exhibition featuring wedding gowns from each decade, dating back to the 1950’s. Beverages and hors d’oeuvres were served as Juilliard performers provided music on the terrace.
Madeline Gardner knows what brides want and never fails to deliver. After 70 years, the brand remains dedicated to celebrating one of the most beautiful moments in a bride’s life and will continue to do so in the years to come.
