Award season has officially started! On Sunday, January 7, the 81st Golden Globe Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. Films like Oppenheimer swept big while the television series “Beef” made history as the first show created and starring Asian-Americans to win in its category. And while we celebrate all the spectacular wins from the show, it’s important to note the red carpet fashion! Here are my favorite looks from the 81st Golden Globe Awards red carpet.
Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez showed up to the Golden Globes with her husband Ben Affleck in a baby pink gown by Nicole + Felicia. The couture mermaid dress featured big puffy rosette sleeves and a corseted bodice, paired with a crystal clutch and pink diamond earrings. JLo finished off her look with classic Hollywood waves and matching pink eye shadow.
Emily Blunt and John Krasinski
It’s always nice to see a Hollywood couple on the red carpet and Emily Blunt and John Krasinski take the cake for the best-dressed one at the Golden Globes. The Oppenheimer actress showed up wearing a custom Alexander McQueen white dress with a gold-sequined bodice paired with Tiffany and Co. jewelry. Alongside his Golden Globe-nominated wife, Krasinski wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana red jacket with maroon pants and a black bow tie.
Hannah Waddingham
Nominated for her performance in the award-winning television show “Ted Lasso,” Hannah Waddingham graced the red carpet in a black lace Suzanne Neville gown. The dress was made of a corseted bodice, floral sleeves, and semi-sheer fabric. Like Jennifer Lopez, Waddingham’s hair was also styled the Old Hollywood way.
Margot Robbie
The entire press tour of Barbie demonstrated an array of Barbie-themed fashion, and the Golden Globes was no exception! Lead actress Margot Robbie channeled the “Superstar 1977” Barbie in an Armani Privé sequined pink gown and a matching pink tulle boa. Robbie spent much of the Barbie press tour sporting Manolo Blahnik shoes, and she once again wore them at her Golden Globes red carpet appearance.
Barry Keoghan
Nominated for his role in Saltburn, Barry Keoghan showed up in custom Louis Vuitton. Sporting a signature Louis Vuitton Damier jacket and pants, Keoghan paired his look with a white button-down shirt, necklace, and a Tiffany and Co. brooch.
Julia Schlaepfer
Dressed in Danielle Frankel, “1923” actress Julia Schlaepfer graced the red carpet in a backless white dress. The halter neckline and silken fabric only made her look all the more elegant, especially when paired with her slicked-back bun and Robert Procop earrings.
