The Nolcha Shows, now in its 15th year of events, took an innovative approach on New York Fashion Week at Mercedes-Benz Manhattan. On September 10, this event combined fashion and technology by presenting a technology experience lounge and runway shows. Many creators and influencers attended the event, participating in tech experiential activations, including the viewing of the Mercedes-Benz new all-electric vehicle portfolio. In addition to the unique tech experience, the Nolcha Shows included three runway showtimes at 2pm, 5pm, and 8pm, from a number of innovative designers. Here’s what each designer showcased at the 2pm show.
The first showtime featured the Spring/Summer 2024 collections from Vitruvius, Kimberly Pucci, and the New York Culture Club. Vitruvius is known for their innovative designs that incorporate technology and sustainability into fashion. For the women’s collection, there were a lot of puffy sleeves and off-the-shoulder tops and dresses, as well as mesh materials. Some pieces had mermaid-like colors and looks, while others had more of a grunge look, with the collection having a wide range of colors. On the other hand, the men’s side featured color block designs with neutral colors and snake skin patterns, while also including some creative looks as well.
The Kimberly Pucci collection leaned more on the side of luxury fashion designs, as it had more of a European summer type of style. Each design consisted of neutral colors, especially white, but had some pops of color with shades of blues and oranges from the accessories.
The New York Culture Club‘s collection was technology inspired. Their eight piece collection tactfully embedded microchips into the fabric and accessories to create an immersive tech experience, just with the use of a phone.
