The Nolcha Shows, now in its 15th year of events, took an innovative approach on New York Fashion Week at Mercedes-Benz Manhattan. On September 10, this event combined fashion and technology by presenting a technology experience lounge and runway shows. Many creators and influencers attended the event, participating in tech experiential activations, including the viewing of the Mercedes-Benz new all-electric vehicle portfolio. In addition to the unique tech experience, the Nolcha Shows included three runway showtimes at 2pm, 5pm, and 8pm, from a number of innovative designers. Here’s what each designer showcased at the 5pm show.
The South Asian bridal boutique, Nazranaa, debuted an all-gold collection for their Spring/Summer 2024 collection. Integrating India’s traditional culture within their designs, designers Shivangi Gupta Singh and Shashank Gupta showed off a luxurious style. Each set, dress, and suit not only were gold inspired, but had beautiful patterns and detailing.
Also including gold in some of their pieces, the Jessica Abbey and Federico Kampf collection took more of a tech approach to their artistic fashion designs. Jessica Abbey shared on a recent Instagram post that this was her first time showcasing her designs at New York Fashion Week, and she did not disappoint. The pair designed several creative pieces with the menswear, incorporating innovative headwear and accessories, and the women’s pieces having some flowing capes and sheer materials.
Tina Tandon also showcased her Spring/Summer 2024 collection during the second show. The female Indian-American fashion designer had a red, black, and gold focused color palette, presenting floral designs. Sparkly sequins and mesh made appearances with fringe details on some on the pieces. Floral headpieces and color coordinated glasses accessorized each design.
