Albright College marked its fourth appearance at New York Fashion Week on Saturday, September 7th, showcasing the exceptional work of nine recent graduates. Renowned for its top-tier Liberal Arts-based fashion programs, Albright’s presentation was a vibrant celebration of emerging talent and creative innovation.
The runway opened with Mary Quinn from Milford, Pennsylvania, whose collection blended whimsical floral designs with silk charmeuse and chiffon sophistication. The show’s opener, a floral-encrusted bustier paired with a layered skirt, set the tone for a Spring 2025 full of elegance.
Michelle Nguyen followed with a collection that combined her Reading, PA roots with contemporary Asian streetwear. Her grass-green A-line mini-dress, adorned with a red barn motif, merged schoolgirl charm with Tokyo’s Ginza edge.
Truc Phuong Ha, another Reading native, showcased versatile pieces featuring inventive fabric combinations and asymmetrical cuts. Her designs, suitable for professional and social settings, turned heads with their unique proportions and creativity.
Abby Thomas-Ridgway from Howell, NJ, presented a feminine lineup of appliquéd eyelet day dresses, perfect for summer events and versatile enough for various age groups. The collection seamlessly transitioned into Lydia Simone’s swimwear, which evoked a yearning for beachside relaxation with its vibrant colors and cascading ruffles.
Felicia Oyekola from New Jersey introduced a collection of brilliantly tailored bridal dresses, balancing traditional elegance with modern hues. Her designs bridged the gap between costume and fashion with notable success.
Brooklyn-born Kamiah Jean turned up the conceptual volume with slashed and reconstructed ensembles. Her use of chain and hardware elements created striking silhouettes, culminating in show-stopping bodycon dresses worn under dramatic boned cages.
Mia Rezza from Horsham, PA, offered a refined finish with her mocha silk charmeuse evening gowns, accented with sky blue silk chiffon. Her collection received enthusiastic applause as models navigated the U-shaped runway.
The show concluded with Stephanie Vargas Hemmings from Reading, PA, presenting bold, hand-sewn textures and innovative designs. Her standout pieces included a deep blue dress with intricate hand techniques and ensembles featuring novel prints and exaggerated layers.
