Anticipation is high as New York Fashion Week is finally here. It has been a very busy week with many pre-show events being thrown for this year’s fashion week. Here are some of the most talked about events of the week you need to know about!
Naomi Campbell’s PrettyLittleThing Runway Show
To start off the week, Naomi Campbell announced her collaboration with PrettyLittleThing. Not only did the runway show have many inclusive and elegant pieces, but included the supermodel, Naomi Campbell, herself as she showed off her collection wearing a black embellished mesh backless maxi dress. Campbell worked on these designs alongside emerging designers, Victor Anate and Edvin Thompson, featuring plunging necklines and shiny metallics. The power from this show reflects how Naomi is bringing high fashion into the fast fashion world.
Chanel’s Lucky Chance Diner
Chanel opened a pop-up celebrating the launch of the Chance Eau Fraîche Eau De Parfum. This diner, located in Brooklyn, was swarming with celebrities dressed head-to-toe in Chanel. Some of the guests included Lil Nas X, Lori Harvey, and TikTok star Alix Earl. With some treats and refreshments, there are also some interactive activities, such as Chanel Beauty vending machines, games, and special spots for photo ops. Luckily this diner will be open for the public from September 8-10, so anyone can have their chance at the Lucky Chance Diner.
J.Crew Celebrates 40 Years
Taking over the Pier 17 rooftop in New York, J.Crew went all out for its 40th anniversary by having a concert. The concert began with female DJ Amrit making an appearance, and ending with a concert from popular band, The Strokes. This pre-New York Fashion Week event brought in some of the previous J.Crew models, like Diane Keaton, Sadie Sink, and Jodie Turner-Smith. Surrounded by many talented individuals and coastal décor, the night reminded everyone of J.Crew’s impact on the fashion world.
Victoria’s Secret Pink Carpet
Finally, this highly anticipated event was held in New York City the other night for the Victoria’s Secret 2023 World Tour. Fashion and entertainment celebrities were in attendance, as well as some of the new and returning angels that will be walking the shows. From Adriana Lima to Gigi Hadid, all guests showed off their inspired looks on the pink carpet. After four years since the last Victoria’s Secret fashion show, the excitement for their world tour is taking over and will soon be on all of our screens September 26.
With these only being some of the many events going around the city in anticipation of this fashion week, it is hard to contain our enthusiasm as New York Fashion Week is finally here!
