PUBLIC Hotel hosted its holiday celebration downtown on Thursday, November 30, to celebrate the launch of its rooftop igloos (a.k.a. chic-gloos). The event featured food, cocktails, and musical performances by DJ Chelsea Leyland and Frex. Frex performed four songs, including her upcoming song “used to” featuring Jordan Ward that’s set to release Friday, December 10. After the launch of the igloos, the rooftop transformed into a microclub where guests could dance the night away.
PUBLIC’s rooftop featured beautiful views of the city; everything from the Empire State Building to the World Trade Center was visible. PUBLIC staff walked around serving champagne and hors d’oeuvres, creating a lively yet elegant atmosphere.
The igloos themselves are perfect for cold winter months, as you can enjoy rooftop views and an open-air atmosphere without fear of frostbite. The intimate spaces are great for a night out with friends and meeting new people.
Once inside the igloo, PUBLIC staff provided an overwhelming amount of food options. Highlights included cheeseburger sliders, truffle gnocchi, tuna spread, and burrata. The menu also featured a variety of both hot and cold holiday cocktails. My personal favorite was the “Sunday Lovers,” made with Codigo Rosa tequila, hibiscus, lemon, and Fever-Tree sparkling grapefruit with a rosemary garnish.
