On February 7, renowned women’s ready-to-wear brand Sergio Hudson premiered their FW25 collection at NeueHouse in Flatiron, Manhattan. This season, all the glam was inspired by old Hollywood. Here is how everybody behind the scenes put this classic look together.
Hair
Celebrity hairstylist Tamika Gibson curated a selection of hairstyles prominent in the 1950s and 1960s for a true Hollywood glam look. “Sergio loves classic looks,” she said.
Gibson is also CEO of The Hair Diagram, an educational platform and haircare brand where viewers can learn how she creates the looks. You can check out how exactly one of the hair looks in the show was put together here.

Makeup
This season’s makeup was led by Marc Reagan, sponsored by Bobbi Brown. The models were seen sporting smoky eyes paired with soft blushes, using a new Bobbie Brown product that has yet to hit the market: the Pot Rouge Velvet Matte. “It melts into the skin,” Reagan said. “It’s coming in a variety of shades that’s going to suit everyone.”
The shade of the Pot Rouge Velvet Matte used was called “warm mocha,” a neutral meant to compliment everybody’s skin tone and the overall makeup look, created using Bobbi Brown’s Weightless Skin Foundation and Long-Wear Cream Eyeshadow Sticks. Reagan said that working with Sergio on this look was effortless. “The great thing about him is he’s a true artist,” he said. “You know he’s a real, genuine, creative.”

Nails
Tiffany from The Sisterhood of Beauty led the nail team using polishes from NAVYA. Their vegan, cruelty-free products are quick-drying, making them an optimal choice for Fashion Weeks backstage. “It’s an actual nail polish,” she said. But it goes on so opaque that you’d think it’s a gel.”
Three colors were used for this season’s show: a burgundy, neon green, and dark blue. “It’s giving savory but spicy!” Tiffany said.

Fragrance
Husband-and-wife pair Bryan and Karimah from Artem Fragrance also held a booth backstage to have their own scent bar, where people could learn about their fragrances and the brand. “We created this brand to be the intersection between the art of storytelling and perfume making,” Bryan said.
A story inspires each fragrance. For example, Karimah’s current fragrance, “Notes in A Minor,” is based on Ella Fitzgerald’s rendition of “Summertime.” Harmoniously, the key of that song is written in the key of a minor, while fragrances are described in “notes,” hence the name.
