Earlier this summer, jewelry brand Simone I. Smith’s designer launched a collection with her daughter, Samaria Leah. Smith has a history of iconic collabs, from her “Denim and Diamonds” collection with Misa Hylton to her curated collection selected by Niecy Nash. This time, her collab with daughter Samaria features four chic pieces: two different-sized hoops, a belly chain, and a hand chain.
We asked Simone a couple of questions about this elegant collection, and here’s what she had to say:
Q: What inspired you both to collaborate on this collection?
A: This collaboration was inspired by love—our love for fashion, jewelry, and each other. Samaria and I have always supported each other’s creative lanes, and this just felt like the right time to merge them. It was a beautiful opportunity to blend her world of elevated, effortless fashion with my passion for statement jewelry and show what a mother-daughter legacy really looks like.
Q: How does this line reflect both of your personal styles?
A: Samaria’s style is clean, chic, and sexy—and this collection speaks to all of that. The pieces are more minimal than my usual designs, but still feel strong and intentional. The hoops are thin and sleek with a soft boldness, and the belly chain with freshwater pearls is so her: effortless glam. I love a statement, and she loves a subtle slay—this collection is the perfect middle.

Q: What makes this collection different from your past work?
A: For starters, the signature bridge hook that people know me for isn’t on these earrings. These are thinner, sleeker, and stamped with Samaria’s name on the bar and my Simone I. Smith logo at the tip—so both our worlds are literally embedded in the design. This is also the first time I’ve incorporated a belly chain and a hand bracelet into a collection, and that’s all Samaria’s influence. It’s a more delicate, modern vibe—but still powerful.
Q: Is there a special piece in the collection that’s most meaningful to you?
A: The hoops are really special because they represent both of us in one design. They carry Samaria’s name and my brand logo—side by side, like we are in real life. But the hand bracelet is also a standout for me. It’s soft, sexy, and symbolic—it almost feels like jewelry as art. That one gave me chills when we finalized the design.

Q: Can you walk us through the design process?
A: It was a true collaboration. We bounced ideas off each other constantly—mood boards, voice notes, sketches, and samples. Samaria knew she wanted something modern and sexy that could be worn every day or dressed up. I brought my experience in jewelry construction, and she brought this fresh vision. We were hands-on with everything—from the placement of the logos to the drape of the pearls on the belly chain. It was a labor of love.
Q: How do you hope people feel when wearing the collection?
A: We want people to feel confident, stylish, and connected. Whether it’s a mother and daughter, sisters, or best friends, this collection is about honoring your feminine power while staying true to your style. It’s graceful, sexy, and bold in a quiet way. When you put it on, we hope you feel like you—just elevated.
