Tara Babylon’s Spring 2024 Collection Embraces a Whimsical Wonderland

British-Iraqui designer Tara Babylon debuted her Spring 2024 collection at New York Fashion Week on Sunday, September 10. The playfulness and whimsicalness of the line was something straight out of “Alice in Wonderland,” with plenty of pastels, lace, and florals. Tara created a sustainably-conscious line using her signature techniques, which included safety-pin crochet, embroidery, t-shirt recycling, and braiding.

The presentation ran for two hours, the venue was a revolving door for guests eager to go down the rabbit hole. The set itself was gracefully fun; yellow and pink flower arrangements were perfected up until the show’s start. Flowers were a very prominent theme, as they were the main hair accessory as well.

Tara’s collection featured 15 looks, each with a pastel yellow, pink, and blue color scheme. Models were similarly decorated with pink shimmering makeup. Standout pieces included those that were intricately handwoven, adding a fresh bounciness to the line.

Tara Babylon’s show was nothing short of a magical Candyland mixed with Marie-Antoinette aesthetics. The collection was a refreshing embrace of our inner child, letting innocence and imagination shine during the summer months.
