Are you unsure about what to bring for Thanksgiving with your family or in-laws this year? Don’t worry; I’ve got an idea for you. How about gifting a bottle of Bacardi and organizing a fun aperitivo competition where everyone can take on the role of a bartender for the night?
I’ve selected for you some Bacardi recipes that are perfect for creating a cozy atmosphere, and is sure to warm up your home. For the fall and winter season, the spotlight shines on fruits like apples, oranges, cranberries, and limes, which will be readily available and easy to prepare for your special gathering.
Our first option is the delightful Friendsgiving Punch, a warm yet fruity and refreshing drink that will be greatly appreciated by the younger attendees. Despite being labeled as intermediate, it’s honestly quite easy to prepare! You’ll need Bacardi Gold Rum as the base, along with:
- 1 ounce of BACARDÍ Gold Rum
- 1/2 ounce of BACARDÍ Superior Rum
- 1 1/2 ounces of apple cider
- 1 ounce of lemonade
- 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 slice of apple
This cocktail is a harmonious blend of holiday flavors and seasonal flavors like apple, apple cider, cinnamon, pumpkin spice, and lemon. When served over ice, I assure you that by the time this delicious concoction touches your lips, you’ll feel as though everyone in your family has become your best friend!
As a second option, how about a Rum Toddy to warm you up on these colder days? This wonderfully citrus-infused drink is like a lemon tea with a punch. Made with Bacardi Gold Rum as the base, you’ll only need:
- 1 1/2 ounces of BACARDÍ Gold Rum
- 3 ounces of hot water
- 1/4 ounce of honey
- 1 lemon wedge
As an added fun twist, this drink can also be the perfect shot for anyone who knows someone, has a dog, or even goes by the name Todd! Because by the end of the night, you just might find yourself becoming “Toddy.” Cheers!
Another quite unique option is the Hot Buttered Rum. While it might seem like the perfect holiday choice, I’ve had my doubts about butter and rum, but you truly have to give it a shot before passing judgment! For this recipe, we use Bacardi Spiced Rum as the base, and here’s what you’ll need:
- 2 ounces of BACARDÍ Spiced Rum
- 3 ounces of hot water
- 1 or more cinnamon sticks
- 1 star anise
- 1/4 heaping teaspoon of soft brown sugar
- 3 tbsp of unsalted butter
- A touch of lemon
This concoction is the perfect way to showcase your bartending skills and offers a fantastic alternative to the usual mulled wine. Give it a try, and you might just surprise yourself!
4. For the fourth option, we have the Orange Old Fashioned, a bolder cocktail that’s perfect for adults in their 40s and 50s. This drink offers a subtle blend of citrus and bitters with essence of orange peel. It’s crafted with a base of Bacardi Reserva Ocho Sevillian Orange Cask Finish, and the ingredients you’ll need are:
- 2 ounces of BACARDÍ RESERVA OCHO SEVILLIAN ORANGE CASK FINISH
- 1/4 ounce of honey syrup
- 2 dashes of ANGOSTURA® BITTERS
It will also go well with a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, so you’ll be ready to drink all night!
Probably one of the easiest recipes, may I introduce the Spiced Apple and Ginger cocktail. It will reconcile younger with older generations with its spice, perfect for a holiday family celebration. Using Bacardi Spiced Rum as the base, you’ll only require:
- 1 1/2 ounces of BACARDÍ SPICED RUM
- 1 1/2 ounces of apple juice
- 1 1/2 ounces of ginger ale
- 2 dashes of ANGOSTURA® BITTERS (optional)
- 1 lime wedge
After sipping a few of these, trust me, this cocktail will undoubtedly earn its place on your list of things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!
