The exciting release of the Black Ice collection was celebrated at the NHL Flagship Store in Manhattan, New York on Wednesday November 30th. Sports apparel company Starter and the National Hockey League linked together to create the ultimate sportswear collection, taking a modern spin on vintage hockey styles that appreciate the youthful and zestful hockey games playing out in the streets!
We had the lucky opportunity to attend the event as VIPs, and boy did we enjoy what they had to offer!
Greeted by the pumping beats played by DJ Ria, who mixed songs like “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk and “This Is What You Came For” by Calvin Harris, I admired the colorful apparel showcasing different NHL sports teams around the store.
As I made my way up, I noticed fans gathered around the hosts of “The Michael Kay Show”, Michael Kay, Don LaGreca, and Peter Rosenberg, and featured prominent guests like former New York Giants star linebacker and President of G-iii, Carl Banks.
Store associates also brought attention to the exciting NHL Stadium Series ticket giveaway, giving a lucky winner a chance to watch an epic game for free, which several guests entered to take advantage of!
I eventually made my way into the VIP area, where they had many interesting views. Invaluable items were protected by glass cases, like all sorts of medallion pucks, some autographed and others showcasing famous sports players’ faces. Gear, like helmets and hockey gloves, were also displayed in all their glory.
I thought the catering by Brooklyn Roots Italian was fantastic and one of my favorite parts of the event. Delicious food such as bread pudding and spicy pasta were ready to serve, which many of us were gladly munching on. Not to mention, the awesome swag bags we got a hold of that contained many goodies, including our home team’s apparel, which we’ll proudly wear in the future!
