Unveiling My Top Organic Makeup Products (with YUKA) Part 3

It’s time to finalize our look, so let’s dive into the final products of our healthy makeup routine with our beloved Yuka assistant.

For Highlighter

I recommend Day Glow Highlighting Balm by Merit. This brand’s highlighters have received an excellent rating of 90/100 from Yuka. They are available in three shades with ‘Cava’ being my personal favorite, which has a champagne-pearl color. This shade definitely provides that glassy, wet effect, and I love it! There’s also ‘Bounce’ in rose gold and ‘Citrine’ in soft gold. These creamy sticks are incredibly easy to blend, even when applied over other products. They not only keep your skin moisturized but also provide a radiant, beautiful glow.

The only downside is the product doesn’t completely set (dry down) on your skin but using a setting spray should help prevent it from smudging.

For Brows:

I discovered that it was more difficult to come across brow cosmetics that not only matched my hair color but also had good ratings. That’s when I stumbled upon L’Oréal Paris Infallible Brows in the auburn shade. Rated ‘Good’ at 69/100 on Yuka. I’m really grateful to L’Oréal for being inclusive and offering a shade that suits my auburn hair color. They offer a total of 7 shades with two options for each type of blonde or brunette and one for those with dark hair or red hair like me. When used, the brush volumizes the brows, fixes them, and gives them the most natural color. What’s even better is that this product lasts a long time, and it’s budget-friendly!

For the Eyes:

The MAC Magic Extension Extensive Black: Yuka rates it ‘Excellent’ at 76/100, and while it may leave a few clumps by the end of the day, it’s the best I’ve found for volume and intense color. Many organic mascaras lack volume or intensity, but this one strikes a balance between quality and health. Its brush is excellent for volume, the black color is intense, and it’s my top choice.

Another option is the Maybelline Green Mega Mousse Mascara. If you prefer a more subtle mascara, this one’s a great option. It’s intensely black, and the brush gives a natural look without adding much texture to your lashes. Yuka rates it at an ‘Excellent’ and a 93/100. Maybelline launched a new green edition that also works well. I’ve tried their superdrop tinted oil, rated ‘Excellent’ at 83/100, and it’s also a winner.

Finally, the Dior Show Mascara: Yuka gives this mascara an ‘Excellent’ rating of 76/100. It delivers almost the same results as the Maybelline option but with a more luxurious finish. The brush, color intensity, and natural look it provides are a great combination of the previous two mascaras. Plus, it lasts and doesn’t smudge. Quality often comes with a higher price tag, and unfortunately, that’s what I’ve noticed with organic mascaras.

For liner, I have found the perfect option for you: the Sephora Long Lasting Eyeliner High Precision Brush : 01 Black. Yuka rates it ‘Excellent’ at 93/100, and it’s the best liner I’ve tried so far. It has a precise tip and an intense black color. The brush is on point, making it easy to create the exact look you want. It lasts a long time, and the best part is that it’s really affordable!

For Lips:

I’ve chosen a number of low-cost options for lipsticks. I don’t know about you, but I never finish my lipsticks since I like to experiment with different colors and looks. That’s why I never spend more than $10 on a lipstick because it lets me explore more shades without breaking the bank!

My absolute favorite is the Matt Pro Ink Non-Transfer Liquid Lipstick from Catrice Cosmetics, which has received an impressive 76/100 ‘Excellent’ rating from Yuka. While my shade is 100 Courage, their entire line is highly rated. What’s remarkable is that the quality far exceeds what you’d expect for the price, which is approximately $5, and they offer ten different shades.

House of Cosmetics

Dr. PawPaw is the lipstick brand for you if you like something that feels more like lip balm. With a 93/100 from Yuka, this collection of colored ultimate balms is excellent. I’ve tried the red and mocha balms, and both have a ton of pigment! Although they are not as lightweight as we would have liked, they nevertheless effectively perform as a nourishing lip balm at such a low cost! It is vegan, approved by PETA, and has 98 percent natural ingredients. Bonus: because it is well pigmented, it may also be used as a blush.

For a lip gloss: once again Essence has you covered! The Juicy Bomb line is dedicated to giving you a selection of lip glosses that are tinted, really lightweight, and really shine. My two favorites are Sweet Peach, which smells like peaches, and 10 Sweet Mint, which makes your lips minty. These are rated 76/100, or ‘Excellent,’ by Yuka. Again, they are vegan, gluten-free, cruelty-free, and paraben-free.

Maquibeauty

Knowing that these lip products are not only budget-friendly but safe, especially given their proximity to the mouth, is really reassuring.

There are many other makeup options out there that are healthy and deserve a spot on this list. However, these products have consistently done the job for me, each in its own way. What matters most to me is that I can enjoy applying makeup while reducing my risk of health concerns, especially given my family’s history with cancer and skin issues.

I can only hope that the cosmetic industry will continue to make it their mission to evolve in response to our individual needs—our skin, our health, and the natural ingredients available on our beautiful planet.
