Everybody has their signature scent, and while the seasons are changing, our fragrance mood might change too. Whether you’re looking for inspiration or just browsing for a new scent, here are the fragrances that the staff at XOXO are currently loving.
Twilly d’Hermès Eau de Parfum (Hermès)
Our founder (and absolute queen) Ikponmwosa Edorisiagbon is currently loving Twilly d’Hermès Eau de Parfum. “I like floral, clean scents,” she said. This one-of-a-kind smell expresses its spicy floral scent through candied ginger, tuberose, and hints of sandalwood. The bottle is playfully decorated in a tiny, silk ribbon, a miniature of the Twilly scarves of Hermès.
I Want Choo Forever Eau de Parfum (Jimmy Choo)
Jimmy Choo’s I Want Choo Forever Eau de Parfum is our resident beauty editor and incredible celebrity makeup artist T. Cooper‘s current favorite. A longtime fan of Jimmy Choo, she said the perfume “smells sophisticated, sexy, and a little spicy.” With hints of black cherry liqueur and earthy almonds and vanilla, this fragrance gives just the right amount of refined air that you want.
N°5 Parfum (Chanel)
XOXO’s managing editor Ayaka Ganig is a huge fan of Chanel Beauty, and fragrance is no exception! Her current favorite is the classic N°5 Parfum. “I am a huge fan of investing in pure perfume when possible,” Ayaka said. “They just smell so much better!” With ingredients such as ylang-ylang, jasmine, vanilla, neroli, sandalwood, and more, this elegant fragrance is a must-have.
Black Opium Eau de Parfum (Yves Saint Laurent)
Another classic in the fragrance world, Yves Saint Laurent’s Black Opium Eau de Parfum is writer Francesca Laggner’s favorite. A deep seductive perfume, this scent is rich with coffee and vanilla, creating a long-lasting perfume perfect for a long day. “Knowing I smell good makes me feel confident no matter what I’m wearing,” Francesca said. Encapsulated in a glittery black bottle, Black Opium leaves much to be desired.
144 Crème Brulée (Le Monde Gourmand)
While this product isn’t necessarily a fragrance, hair and body mists come a close second, and they’re a favorite of XOXO writer Clémence Pasteur. While on the search for a new fall fragrance, she came across an affordable brand called Le Monde Gourmand, picking the scent 144 Crème Brulée. A “delightful blend of vanilla, sweet caramel, and whipped cream,” according to Clém, it embodies the coziness of the chilly days yet to come.
White Diamonds Eau de Toilette (Elizabeth Taylor)
White Diamonds Eau de Toilette is a classic scent, favored by our editor Melissa Santiago. “Lately I’ve been working on dressing to impress in the work field,” she said. “A fragrance has to compliment everything you’re trying to achieve in your look.” White Diamonds is certainly a good way to make a fantastic impression, with a sharp floral smell made with lily, tuberose, and sandalwood.
Gardenia Eau de Parfum (Elizabeth Taylor)
Elizabeth Taylor is a popular brand among XOXO, and for good reason! Our editor Shira Segal also favors the brand, with her favorite being Gardenia Eau de Parfum. According to Shira, this fragrance is perfect for an oily skin type, as “the scent remains strong throughout the day despite my skin usually ‘kicking off’ other perfumes.” With hints of every flower from jasmine, to lily of the valley, rose, and of course, gardenia, this perfume is perfect for any season and can be purchased at a reasonable price.
Perfect Eau de Parfum (Marc Jacobs)
XOXO’s writer Madison Manczko has been a big fan of Marc Jacobs perfumes her whole life, but her favorite right now is Perfect. “I have used Marc Jacobs’ perfume basically my entire life,” she said. “So when the brand came out with Perfect it was no surprise that I instantly fell in love.” This modern feminine scent has hints of daffodil and juicy rhubarb, bringing some brightness to the coming chilly months.
Wildly Me Eau de Toilette (florence by mills)
Finally, to close this article out is my current personal favorite, Wildly Me Eau de Toilette by Millie Bobby Brown’s skincare and beauty line, florence by mills. Launched just a couple of weeks ago, Wildly Me is full of floral hints, from irises to wisteria, violets, and lavenders. With some earthy undertones, this perfume is the perfect freshness for a crisp fall day, with the added bonus of gorgeous packaging.
