Do you have a bunch of clothes you don’t wear anymore? Everyone has pieces they find themselves neglecting. However, it doesn’t have to be the end of the road for your garment. Whether you’re the owner of a worn-out shirt or a piece you’re simply not interested in anymore, here are a couple of ways you can revive some of your old clothes!

Crop It

Snip snip! Cropping your tops or bottoms is one of the simplest ways to give it new life! If you’re not feeling a t-shirt anymore, why not make it into a crop top? By cutting the bottom portion, you’ll give your shirt a new edge. If you’re into sleeveless shirts, snip the sleeves off to make it ideal for the warmer months.

Dye It

How about revamping it with a new color? If you’re dealing with a plain old tee, spice it up with a different hue. Whether you like one solid color or a nice dip-dye shirt, try getting creative with it! Plus, it can be quite effective in camouflaging stubborn stains. Various fabrics are easily dyed, such as cotton, linen, or denim, but remember, other types like polyester and spandex are much more difficult to do, so use precaution with some materials.

Fringe It

Revive your old clothes with a little bit of spice! Take some scissors and cut a fringe into the hem of your clothes. This will surely give your pieces a whole new gorgeous and intriguing look. A pair of jeans with fringe hems is out of the ordinary yet so stylish when done correctly! You can leave the fringe alone or tie the pieces for an interesting knot pattern. Try applying this with other pieces like dresses and skirts – fringes look particularly good when rocking punk or gothic styles!

Patch It

Dreaded pesky holes don’t make a clean look, but that doesn’t mean it has to go to the trash! Select your favorite patch that combines nicely with your garment, grab a thread and needle, and get stitching! To make this process easier, use fabric glue to stick on instead. You can even buy iron-on patches that take a bit of pressing and boom – all covered!

Snip Some Holes In It

Cutting holes into your clothes intentionally can create a fashionable look. A distressed shirt can be made by snipping a bunch of tiny holes and slashing a few areas of the shirt. On the other hand, you can modestly make a few slashes onto the sleeves to reveal a bit more skin.

Before you get rid of your old clothes, consider trying some of these techniques before purchasing brand-new pieces. There are multiple easy ways to restore worn-out clothes, and most of the tools needed can be found in your comfy home. We hope you learned something new and gained some fashionable inspiration!
