9/7/2023 – Celebrating the opening of NYFW last night at the flagship store in SoHo, New York City, Miss Circle invited a select group of guests, influencers, press and fellow designers to a luxurious night of fashion celebration that included cocktails, DJ performances, and a peek at some of Miss Circle’s upcoming collection.
Miss Circle is the home of unapologetic fabulousness and self-expression, founded in 2016 by Isabel Deng, the brand has primarily focussed on stylish, modern gowns and evening wear.
After hosting a party for the opening of the store, Isabel decided she had to host more events that bring people together to celebrate fashion and the brand, taking the online relationships in Miss Circle’s social media community into offline connections.
“The Miss Circle brand is all about staying true to yourself, you don’t have to apologize for being yourself. Your role as the founder includes a lot of different things,” says Isabel, “it’s marketing, PR, finance, but I love the design element the most. Each design has my heart, adding a bit of flirty and fun to the gowns, and the challenge of creating daywear when the eveningwear comes so naturally to me.”
The collection for fall is all about lace and velvet, and including more daywear to give different choices and more flexibility in wear – something you could put on for brunch, or a birthday party, which is set to grow the brand’s reach – particularly with Gen Z – in the next 12 months.
The upcoming collection will also include the brand’s signature gowns. “I love the high splits in the collection, the gowns are beautiful but there’s a little bit of sexiness that’s not vulgar,” says Ikponmwosa.
Isabel Deng’s advice for our emerging designers: “At the beginning you might feel lost, there’s a lot of questions and problems and there’s no map or textbook so you have to figure everything out yourself. But keep trying, keep learning and don’t give up. Believe in yourself because in this modern time you can make things happen without a network or education background.”
