Inside the Brands at Curve New York

From Sunday, February 4 to Tuesday, February 6, Curve New York was in session. Held at the Javits Center in Manhattan, New York, Curve is a trade show that displays the best of the intimate apparel industry. Opening twice a year during the two fashion seasons, more than 150 brands are featured and clients can book appointments or visit to get their perfect piece of loungewear, swimwear, activewear, and lingerie. Here are some of the brands at Curve this year.

Lily by Circe

Lily by Circe

A relatively new lingerie brand that launched in the summer of 2023, Lily by Circe is a brand that focuses on uplifting women. That’s why founder Circe Bloom makes all her products in an independent atelier in Ukraine to support Ukrainian women.

Another important aspect of the brand is its sustainability practices. “The issue is that in fashion, there is a product of overproduction,” Bloom said. “We only do made-to-order and we get them made in limited quantities.” If you’re looking for a specific kind of style that’s not already sold at Lily by Circe, Bloom will also create custom orders. Conturelle

Conturelle

Based in Germany, lingerie brand Conturelle was founded over 100 years ago. One of their defining features is their size range. “Conturelle goes up to a K cup,” said Lauren Brickman, a spokesperson of the brand. Most styles of their products will range from a 32B to a 44K!

Conturelle’s style ranges from modern, to simple, to sexy. Made for every occasion, each piece of intimate apparel is ultimately functional. “[They’re] really nice bras, really well made,” said Brickman. You can check out Conturelle here.

Atelier Amour

Atelier Amour

Founded in 2014, Atelier Amour is a French brand that caters to the clientele that are looking for more sexy lingerie. Founder Rachel Bouchon spent over 15 years in the intimate apparel industry before founding her company, where lingerie is an accessory to love.

Atelier Amour uses alpha sizing for their products. “[It’s] easy to buy as a gift,” Brickman said. Inspired by French elegance and the Parisian style, Atelier Amour is the place to feel your most confident. You can check out the brand here.

Sainted Sisters

Sainted Sisters

Australian luxury lingerie brand Sainted Sisters carries everything from camisoles to pajamas, to gowns, and more. While these pieces are gorgeous in intimate settings, they can also double as outerwear. Each collection fits a different style and is therefore carefully crafted to match that theme. Dita Von Teese

Dita Von Teese

Founder and designer Dita Von Teese emulates classic glamour with her lingerie brand. Teese has proven that not only can she be a dancer and model, but she also has a designer and businesswoman on her list of achievements! “Her line is so beautiful,” Brickman said. “It’s really fun and well-priced.”

Inspired by international style icons from the Golden Age of Cinema and the pinup girl, Teese founded her lingerie line in 2012. You can check out the brand here.

MINDD

MINDD

MINDD is a bra company that’s made for the D+ community. Founder and CEO Helena Kaylin, a DDD wearer, developed two-time patented cup technology that will shape and mold to fit the wearer just right. This special technology has also allowed for pieces to be sold in only 5 sizes based on band size.

One unique feature of MINDD bras is that they’re wire-free. “There’s seven zones of support and compression that replace the need for a wire,” said Kaylin. “We’re the only ones in the world who can do these bras.” MINDD bras are now sold at Victoria’s Secret and online. Madeleine Fig

Madeleine Fig

Madeleine Fig is a mother-daughter-owned business created by Elizabeth Figueroa and her daughter Jannina Madeleine Figueroa. “I’m fourth generation in the trade,” Jannina said. “My grandmother used to look at you and make your clothes and not even measure you. I think she passed down a little of that magic to us.”

The Los Angeles-based brand got its start in the bridal industry, but they have recently expanded into loungewear and lingerie. Each piece sold is 100% made in LA and carries sizes XS to 4XL. Inspired by the romance and elegance of the bridal scene, Madeleine Fig creates many pieces for bridal trousseaus.
