Designed and made in Greece, LIDA is a luxury swimwear brand bringing the Mediterranean aesthetic to the world. LIDA Swimwear channels timeless European elegance, combining polished silhouettes, premium fabrics, and a focus on feminine confidence.
We spoke with Katerina, a member of the LIDA team, to explore its swimwear, creative process, and future plans.
Rooted in decades of craftsmanship, Katerina explains that it has “been in business for 40 years. The original creator was a woman, and essentially passed it down to her son, and her son has really established the brand. And then he also has a son who eventually will take on the LIDA brand.”
Throughout its 40-year history, the brand has remained committed to sourcing premium fabrics. As LIDA continues to grow, they are expanding their market and sharing the European summer style.
“It’s predominantly in the European market, and we just entered the U.S. market in 2026. All of our fabric sources are from Italy… We are really sold in a lot of the Greek islands. So we are definitely 100% European, looking forward to entering the U.S. because we definitely bring that European Mediterranean flair.”
LIDA designs a range of styles in sizes 0 to 12, highlighting its signature crochet details and refined silhouettes.
“What we’re really known for is our crochet bordered bikinis and one-piece swimwear, which is essentially crocheted borders with lurex woven into the border. And so we’ve got different styles. We’ve got a lot of one-shoulders, very Grecian sort of look.”
A wide selection of swimwear is elevated by carefully chosen materials that add the finishing touch.
“The new trend for next year is definitely the lurex material. So they’re a metallic-shiny material that glimmers in the sun. And what’s really nice about the LIDA product is that the lurex is very soft. Generally, lurex is very harsh on the skin, but because we source it from Italy, it’s a very premium product, and it’s very soft on the skin. And if you’re in the sun, you definitely glimmer in the sun.”
