Brigette McHale, better known online as Acquired Style, made an entrance to her family’s Thanksgiving dinner last year wearing an inflatable latex dress from T’ABBE Designs. This wasn’t the only time the brand went viral for its unique looks. Many online are calling the iconic plastic garments “Polly Pocket dresses”, noting the brand’s similarities to the iconic doll clothing so many young adults grew up with.
At New York Fashion Week, brand founder Talia Abbe had a lot to prove to the masses eagerly waiting for T’ABBE’s next collection. This season drew inspiration from a coat her grandmother sketched, sparking an entire collection of 60s-influenced looks. Abbe’s designs meshed perfectly with the vibrant colors and patterns plastered on every surface of Serendipity III in Times Square, ushering guests into a time capsule from 60 years ago. Her grandmother’s vision came to life in this season’s collection. A T’ABBE SS27 butter yellow coat with patterned collars, cuffs, and pockets sparked Talia Abbe’s new line. Paired with a signature T’ABBE bag, the look blended seamlessly with Serendipity III’s decor.
Talia Abbe is committed to staying authentic, saying she “is just building off” the creative success she found with the Bubble Dress. The designer drew inspiration from 1960s icons, from Audrey Hepburn to Twiggy.
T’ABBE’s new collection mixes the playful fashion of the sixties with its signature bulbous silhouettes, unlocking a new dimension of lightheartedness to define the brand. A recurring pattern with sale stickers and receipt decals embellishes the cuffs, collars, and pockets. Other looks include bubble dresses and skirts alongside classic penny loafers and babydoll dresses.
Talia Abbe’s collection reimagines the sixties with a contemporary twist. Her garments feature textures and silhouettes unique to 2027, reinventing new styles in a world oversaturated with fashion monotony. We can’t wait to see what T’ABBE Designs has in store for their Ready-to-Wear collection!
XOXO,
Your Fashion Bestie
