Mary Lai Exhibition Launch

Contemporary artist, Mary Lai, is going to be unveiling her latest magical exhibition Synchronicity, from February 16 – March 3, 2024.

Based in Los Angeles, California, Korean-American artist Mary Lai has followed her heart and fulfilled her artistic fate. Her outlook is that “art is a universal language that can speak to anyone” and this mindset is reflected within her lively contemporary artwork that never fails to uplift emotion. An incredible talent, Mary has successfully shined across several mediums, including art, fashion, sculpture, graphic design, and murals. She has a playful and colorful style, always aiming to stimulate a positive emotional connection with the audience.

Prior to Mary’s visual art journey, she built a career in New York as a fashion accessories designer, including an award-winning namesake handbag collection. With a B.F.A. in Graphic Design and over 20 years of art and design experience, Mary Lai has worked with several notable brands including HBO Max, Vayner, St. Jude, the Wahlbergs, American Express, SXSW, BAM, Snapchat and more. Having exhibited at leading art galleries and fairs, Mary continues to explore what it means to create art with a strong impact.

Mary’s upcoming exhibition, Synchronicity, which is taking place on February 16 at The Art Room in downtown L.A., will be showcasing over 25 pieces of her work. The concept of Synchronicity is a phenomenon when two events that seem to be unrelated are intertwined and viewed as “meaningful coincidences.” To artists, events such as these can reaffirm taken directions and prove to be a validation on their journey. For Mary, this exhibition depicts her visual manifestation of meaningful coincidences and says, “meaningful coincidences seem to happen when preparation and hard work meets opportunity, validating our artistic journey.”
