NYFW: Bronx and Banco’s Bali-Inspired Collection

9/08/23 –  Held in the Public Hotel on Chrystie Street this morning, designer and founder of Bronx and Banco, Natalie De-Banco, presented her Spring 2024 collection. The event featured cocktails, finger foods, and, of course, stunning models wearing gorgeous clothing.

Bronx and Banco is an Australian retail brand featured in stores such as Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Revolve, and others. Since its launch in 2009, the brand has gained serious international attention via celebrities such as Beyonce, Selena Gomez, JLo, and Megan Thee Stallion, who are all fans of the brand.

De-Banco made her New York Fashion Week debut in 2018 and has since presented a collection every year. “Every time it’s unique, because the collection is so different,” she aid in an interview at the presentation. “It’s such a different vibe every season, but exciting, and also fun to work with the same people.”

This season’s collection was inspired by De-Banco’s travels to Bali. “I’ve been going to Bali my whole life,” she said. Unfortunately, on her most recent trip to the island, she found out that a nearby island, Halmahera, is slowly being destroyed by miners for electric car companies, and native tribes are being forced out. “I just felt very strongly about it, and I just wanted to make the collection to raise that awareness,” De-Banco said. “All the dresses in that collection represent offerings.”

Bronx and Banco’s Spring 2024 collection was filled with bright and dazzling colors, fitting for island life in Bali. From three dimensional floral detailing to flowy fabrics, De-Banco captures the essence of Indonesian offerings in a tasteful way. Her choice of the Public Hotel as a venue served to bring Bali to New York.

De-Banco’s Spring 2024 collection does not make her work finished. She will be returning to her roots as a designer in bridal for Bridal Fashion Week in October. “For swim week, we’re doing sustainable swimming pool swimwear,” she said. There are lots of things to look forward to at Bronx and Banco.

XOXO,

Your Fashion Bestie
