From Wednesday, January 24 to Friday, January 26, global fashion marketplace PROJECT hosted their menswear trunk show entitled, “In Your Neighborhood.” Held at 45 Downing Street in Greenwich Village in New York City, this exclusive event featured hand-picked brands from all around the world to present curated selections and even exclusive drops. Here are the brands at “PROJECT Presents: In Your Neighborhood.”

AHLEM

Ahlem

AHLEM is a luxury eyewear brand founded by Paris-native designer Ahlem Manai-Platt. With boutiques in New York City, Los Angeles, Paris, and San Francisco, AHLEM’s designs are both unique and sustainable. “Each model is microplated with 22 gold,” said Hichem, the manager of AHLEM’s Paris store. “So we have this mix between the design world and eyewear.”

No two pieces of eyewear are alike, with each model being handcrafted by expert artisans, who hammer the metal directly into the frames. Recently, AHLEM collaborated with Vogue fashion editor and stylist Jorden Bickham. “We made just 100 pieces,” Hichem said. “So each model has a serial number.” You can shop at AHLEM here.

GANT

GANT

GANT is a sportswear brand with a history spanning decades with the company’s founding in April 1949. Originally a brand that manufactured quality shirts, GANT transitioned to sportswear in 1971 and started selling ties, rugby shirts, and trousers. Now, the brand develops timeless and elegant garments designed to last the test of time and made from the highest quality fabrics.

One big factor of GANT is their practice on sustainability. To ensure this practice, the brand uses a conscious and responsible approach to the manufacturing of the pieces. Brotherwolf

Based in Melbourne, Australia, Brotherwolf started as a group of people at a barber shop. “They built such a great community that having an apparel collection was the next step for them,” said John Kiszley, managing director of Good People Agency, who represents Brotherwolf.

Brotherwolf’s garments create clean lines and are made with the finest craftsmanship. Each piece is dedicated to the community, so that they may wear long-lasting clothes and bring people together with their apparel. Brotherwolf just recently launched in Paris. Café-Mountain

Café-Mountain

Another brand under Good People Agency, Café-Mountain is a UK-based brand. Aimed at connecting nature to apparel, Café-Mountain takes inspiration from brands such as LL Bean and Eddie Bauer. “The owner has a real eye for fabrics and you can see that in the range here,” Kiszley said. “I think there’s a real integrity to a brand that can produce something with that much detail.”

Café-Mountain’s style spins classic outdoor wear in its unique way. The brand connects the modern with the timeless by using well-crafted patterned fabrics and putting them on adaptable, wearable clothes. You can check out Café-Mountain’s website here.

A Day’s March

A Day's March

Celebrating their 10th year in business, Stockholm-based brand A Day’s March is celebrating their first season launch. With a demand for more and more boutiques and stores opening, A Day’s March is currently preparing a store opening in NoHo, Manhattan. “It’s [a] very wearable and accessible brand,” Kiszley said. “It’s an exciting prospect for the industry.”

The majority of clothing from A Day’s March is made in Portugal. The brand sources its fabrics from family-owned businesses in Portico to ensure the highest quality when creating their garments. Origin Knitwear

Origin Knitwear sells exclusively British-made knitwear. Originally known as Country of Origin, the label has recently rebranded to add a contemporary touch. “We work with a family-owned factory in a historic knitting town called Wigston,” Kiszley said. “Collectively, they have about 80 years of knitting experience. Their knowledge is priceless.”

While the knitwear is sourced in the UK, other garments from Origin Knitwear such as jerseys and tees are made in Portugal. The brand makes sure that workers and production makers are paid well for their effort and time and never skimp on quality. You can check out Origin Knitwear here.

Stutterheim

Stutterheim

A brand based in Stockholm, which has an abundance of rain, Stutterheim delivers with their quality rainwear. While manufactured across Europe, the brand’s atelier works hard at their home base in Sweden. “We’ve looked at the market in the last couple of years and realized that the best weight for a rain jacket is a lightweight to allow for layering,” said Kiszley.

Stutterheim doesn’t just produce raincoats and jackets, with rain accessories having been introduced this season. These new items include neck warmers, fleece-lined hoods, and balaclavas. The brand also sells hoodies, shirts, and zip-up jackets. You can shop Stutterheim here.

Mercer

Mercer

Dutch sneaker brand Mercer is based in Amsterdam. Named after Mercer Street in New York City, all of the brand’s footwear is sustainably made. “They use pineapple and cactus skin to produce their trainers,” Kiszley said. “Everything is recycled.”

In conjunction with Mercer, P22 is also a shoe line within the brand. It’s often a favorite of marathon runners who run up to 80-kilometer races and is closely made with the sole producer Vibram. Democratique

Democratique

Based in Copenhagen, Democratique is an affordable sock brand. While high-quality socks are often sold at expensive prices, that’s not what this brand promises. Sold at an affordable price, Democratique socks are made from organic cotton with a bonus of some fun styles!

Because of the quality of the cotton as well as the craftsmanship, Democratique socks are durable and made to last. Many Japanese designers go to a big town called Okayama to study the production of denim. “We have our factory there and we’re also developing the fabric itself,” said Illi Ihha, a representative of the brand. North Works
